Being a regular human - although a decent detective - he does have some suspicions and he is on alert but he's not getting any extra sense of anything too dangerous just yet. His skills lie in his determination and not always an immediate instinct. He's often gone off the track, only to circle around to the correct conclusion by never giving up.
