CRAU History and Impact: n/a

Personality:

Loki is quick to action; no nonsense; straight to the point; tenacious; determined and said by his police captain to have solved all the cases he's been assigned in the police department (perhaps a slight exaggeration as reassurance but he is someone who doesn't quit until he's done). But he's not one to boast about such things himself. He has a semi-regular facial tic where he blinks hard and multiple times, particularly when he's stressed or containing his emotions. He takes his work very seriously, is quick to pull out his gun and plays by his own rules - to a certain degree; thinking outside the box - while still following proper procedures when those perspectives don't clash. He's polite and professional to the public, for the most part, restrained and attempts to keep others calm with measured words and tone. Still, he can occasionally snap at people and lose his temper when pushed a bit too far. His thoroughness can border on obsession when he's following a case, increasing his general stress. He's been said to be married to his work and is a seeker of truth, and he concentrates on that entirely, even refusing a drink to keep his focus on what he's investigating. He's not infallible, however, and his instincts aren't always the best. He won't pursue a lead if it appears to be a dead end and is quick to move on to the next lead but will circle back around if evidence then leads him back with something he's missed before. The key with him is he never gives up, even when he does make mistakes and runs after false leads. He doesn't let it stop him; it only delays him.

He spent his childhood in a religious boy's home, where he was likely abused or at least witnessed abuse. So he's very set on catching such offenders, even roughing them up and will also push himself, risking his own life without much thought to his personal safety to save their victims. He jumps into dangerous situations with no hesitation, which can be unwise in his line of work and he's willing to put in extra hours, to the point of personal exhaustion and extreme stress. He has no family and or close friends, even if he can be friendly and isn't always serious. He generally gets along with people, is polite to the general public but hasn't formed any close bonds in his life. Dedication to his work has taken full priority over relationships.

Due to his upbringing, he has a complicated relationship with religion and has branched out to more mystical studies, getting many tattoos with various symbolic meanings in astrology, paganism and a variety of religions. He has a great deal of curiosity about all such things and in a game he will ask questions of those beings with powers or other supernatural aspects. He's been in trouble as a youth but pulled himself together to work on the right side of the law. Still, there can be a dangerous edge to him, especially in the way he deals with suspects yet he cares about people, even if he often represses emotions publicly.

He's still very much driven by his past, concentrating more on saving others and neglecting his own personal well being. He struggles to suppress both emotions and what he himself has lived through so there is some fear of just letting go, losing control of himself and facing that troubled time. Morally, he follows the law the best he can but will make quick decisions when lives are on the line and won't hesitate to wound or kill a suspect in self defence, if the situation cannot be defused first.

Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping:

Loki is just a regular human. His only power lies in his relentless determination and persistence, often at personal risk (both in putting his life on the line to protect others and in pushing himself too hard and so he's highly over-stressed).
