I'm sure my captain back home would have run with it. He thought I was the precinct's star detective with an impeccable record and he liked to tell people that. I mean, it does reassure some people so I didn't complain about it but I just wanted to get on with my job, you know?

not really, no.
Just trying to take it one day at a time here.

I'm not so sure we're in for a peaceful summer.

I've only been here for about three months
and it's certainly seeming to look that way.

It's not something I like to say I've gotten used to but that's the truth of it. It's become an accepted reality.

But that doesn't mean we stop fighting against it and trying to figure out how to break everyone free.

Or why we're here to begin with.
But I don't expect to get any answers there overnight.

There have been a lot of rumors around. Speculation. Ideas.

But not enough concrete facts or evidence to support any of it.

[It's very difficult getting him to relax or take his mind off a case and even though this was beyond police business, it's still very much always on his mind. His determination can be both a blessing and a curse.]
