Did you want to meet up? To talk. We don't have to do anything else.
[But really, he needs to be more open to what the city requires of them. He still struggles for quota. But he's not one to just dive into things with strangers.]
[He agrees and will head down to the Cafe Leblanc. Arriving a little early, he finds a free table and orders a coffee as he waits. He doesn't often just meet up with strangers, especially after random conversations but he had some free time and a healthy dose of curiosity. It couldn't hurt to meet up and talk, whether it led to anything more or not.]
[Jadzia, on the other hand, leads a life that tends to have strangers coming and going. There is a crew aboard the space station, and she has friends, but different species come and go all the time Add to that the knowledge that the symbiont provides to her, she has a vast array of memories to call upon.
She's there at three, although it can be hit and miss with her. Prompt for work, she can be varied with social functions. She's casually dressed now, unlike the image that had been sent, although the twin rows of spots can be seen disappearing beneath her over-sizzed sweater.
She glances around, eyes sweeping, before spotting him, and makes a bee-line towards where he's seated.]
[She does give a glance across the tattoos, noting the variety that he seems to have, and wondering if there are others. It is fairly clear that unlike with her, they aren't natural. Her smile is easier, her blue eyes holding that lively light that always seems to be there, as she sits down across from him, leaning forward a little on the table.]
[It will give her a moment to ponder what to say. There's the obvious, of course.]
I'm a Trill, so not human, although I've been to Earth quite a bit over the centuries. From a time where space travel is fairly common, and work as a science officer on a space station.
No. We share characteristics, but I'm usually colder than a human, and there's the lines of spots as well.
[Some other internal items, but no added toes or strangeness that way. She thanks for the coffee, before taking a sip.]
Hmm. Trill is the name of our homeworld and my species. We're technologically advanced , sometimes seen as secretive although we're not really. Been space faring for centuries.
[She won't lie or claim otherwise. It's not some pleasant utopia where all is sunshine and friendship.]
But you're also putting together a lot of differences species who all have their own cultures and beliefs. Yet, we do try to help each other for the benefit of all, when we can.
Some adjusting is an understatement. Don't get me wrong. I don't have any issues with sex. I just prefer it on my terms. It's quite different, of course. I'm used to some rules and regulations, but Starfleet doesn't place this manner of them on us.
Yeah, the issue is that while we do have some choices of who we partner with, we are still forcefully encouraged to participate in these quotas every month. Not to mention any magical weirdness that acts like some sort of sex drug to make us do things we usually would hesitate on.
[By his tone, he's clearly angry over the whole thing, but he's still surface calm and restrained. All that fury just simmering underneath, visible in the set of his jaw and frown lines.]
[He's mulling over something, or so she would guess, taking the time to sip her own drink again. It's hard to really surprise her, although there is a hint of it there. The corner of her mouth twitches, and it is clear that she could tease him, to draw out what it is that he is trying to get at, could sometime... get another coffee. Grab a bite to eat? Converse...]
