While I can't exactly attest to your skills, I get the feeling that you've been around the block a few times. Don't sell yourself so short there. But the titles are definitely something one can take a little seriously or even literally.
I'm sure my captain back home would have run with it. He thought I was the precinct's star detective with an impeccable record and he liked to tell people that. I mean, it does reassure some people so I didn't complain about it but I just wanted to get on with my job, you know?
