Did you get directly caught up in Jeopardy?

Yeah. Fighting monsters, getting caught in other's memories, and meeting those ... three. I initially tried to help stop the ritual from taking place.

I didn't see the Fates.

I was helping heal those I could. There was enough chaos around that I saw very little of the actual saving of this world.

I'm glad you didn't see them.

And thanks for all of your help. I got caught up in some monster fighting, but the healing, that helped even more.

It comes at a cost but if I can save some lives, it's worth it.

Yeah. Anything is worth it if it saves lives.

[Left at his door on Christmas Day is a package wrapped in brown butcher paper. What? It's simple and nondescript. And inside of it a nice set of comfortable leather gloves and a matching black scarf. Oh, and finally, a black travel coffee mug.

Putting thought into things is what we do.

[Things had been crazy this month and she feels a little bad it is not much and is late on top of that, but at least it’s something, right?

On his doorstep, David will find a cute Christmas card and a short note wishing him a good holiday season and a Happy New Year.]

[He doesn't like to think about how Eve is not here. It causes his corporation to hurt but he has put off this date long enough. She would not want him to be hurt.

And she is back with Him who is Her who is I am and he is envious. He has prayed for a long time about how envious he is and been told to fulfill his obligations. To try and live without another of his first friends.

He doesn't like that.

But he has sent a message to the person who "won" him in his auction to meet at a coffee shop. Dressed nicely with well manicured nails painted a very light shade of purple, he's sitting at a coffee shop with a stack of books and a smile on his face. The moment he sees his "date" - he rises.]

I hope I'm dressed appropriately for a date. This is traditional masculine wear for the event yes?

[David would have bid on Eve as well - if she hadn't already been out of his budget's league, but he'd at least secured this archangel for a 'date'. Or more of a talk, in the detective's mind. He'd targeted a few spiritual figures, just wanting some more time with them.]

The nails may be a bit much.

[He comments at Gabriel's question, giving him a studied look over. Himself, he's dressed in a button up light blue shirt and dark grey jacket and trousers. Nothing unusual for him - business casual with no tie. He looks neat and tidy, even if his black boots appear a little worn.]

But there are no hard and fast rules with this.

[He stares down at his nails before offering a shrug and gesturing for his "date" to sit. Looking the other man over and staring at his hands again, he shrugs.]

I enjoy them.

[He smiles before shrugging his shoulders.] I was not entirely clear on the purpose of this, but I brought books if you'd like to...read together. That's what interests my female friends.

Not reading together, perhaps, but reading. Do you drink coffee?

I do and I don't want to read.

Did you think this was a real date? I should have brought flowers.

[He looks a little amused; his tone slightly teasing.]

I just want to talk to you. Have that time alone.

[Gabriel's eyes widen. Flowers? At a date? Crowley had done that with Aziraphale and the notion makes him harrumph before shaking his head.] Flowers...would...not have been appropriate I think.

[he folds his hands and stares at him]

If you wanted to speak to me you could have called, or come to one of my sermons.

You are doing sermons? I wasn't aware of that.

[David takes a seat and orders a coffee - after a brief discussion with the waiter over bringing him the strongest they had.]

But I'm sure you have a crowd when you're preaching. I want something different and more intimate.

[Choice of words might seem more like this being a date again.]

So we can take our time.

Yes! I do. [Gabriel beams at that.] It is a small flock certainly but it's not about my salary in this case but doing Her work and being...well. Angelic.
Time is relative for you.

[he pauses and stares at him, more animal then human. When he speaks again,Gabriel's tone is matter of fact. He settles in and folds one leg over the other.] Or - for me I should say. Human beings count time differently then I do. I'll give as much of it as I can here, but your time and my time is different. My time is eternal.

[barring certain concerns of his, but that is neither here nor there. He raises an eyebrow.]

So the correct response is.

[His hands fold.] I'd be taking your time. Limited though it may be...but that is...a problem for humans isn't it? Knowing this?

[He can't imagine it would please Jane or Kenzi or Poe or Richie or any of the others he met, to point it out.]

What would you like to talk about?

If your time is eternal, you won't mind losing an hour or two talking to me then. All for a charitable cause.

[With the auction.]

[He adds matter-of-factly.]
